Scholarships

The RIMEF has 51 named scholarship funds providing up to 77 individual scholarships. These scholarships provide over $100,000 in financial assistance to Rock Island High School graduates. Average as well as high performing Rock Island High School seniors may qualify for these awards to further their education. We offer help for those wanting to attend vocational school, junior college, or a four-year college.

The scholarships have differing requirements but we've made it easy to apply. Just one application package needs to be submitted to apply for the majority of the scholarships.

You can now apply online through our website. See the Apply Now page under the scholarship tab for link and instructions.

Scholarship application package must include:

  • Copy of their high school transcript
  • Letter of recommendation from a teacher or coach (see requirements of desired scholarships) who is familiar with their dedication to excellence
  • FAFSA or other financial aid information
  • 500-word essay illustrating how the assistance will help them achieve their dreams and how they will use their education to make a difference

***A copy of your high school transcript will be sent directly to the RIMEF from the RIHS Counseling Office.

All of us have our ROCK - someone who is always there for us and makes a profound impact on our lives. So many teachers, graduates, and community stakeholders appreciate the impact the Rock Island-Milan School District made on their lives. In return, they provide thousands of dollars to help other Rocks succeed.
